Baltic Water Works Conference 2025 Brings Regional Water Sector Leaders Together in Tallinn

Since the early 2000s, the Baltic Water Works Conference has brought together water sector professionals from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and beyond — offering a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and regional development. After gaining new momentum in 2013, the conference has become one of the most important cross-border gatherings for water utilities in the Baltic region.

From May 28 to 30, 2025, Tallinn will host the next edition of the conference - Baltic Water Works Conference 2025 - bringing together water sector experts for three days of strategic discussions, engaging presentations, and practical insights. Held at Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel Tallinn, the event will focus on key challenges and future opportunities for resilient and sustainable water services in a rapidly changing world.

Organised by the Estonian Waterworks Association (EVEL) in close cooperation with its Latvian and Lithuanian counterparts - Latvian Water and Wastewater Works Association, Lithuanian Water Suppliers Association - and supported by Tallinna Vesi AS, the conference will explore the vital issues shaping the future of water management in the Baltic region.

"We are proud to host this essential platform for dialogue and innovation. As climate and cyber risks grow and regulations evolve, water utilities must act decisively to ensure sustainable and resilient services. This conference is a step forward in finding shared solutions," said Raili Kärmas, CEO of the Estonian Waterworks Association.

Key Topics for 2025: Reform, Resilience, and Innovation

The conference program is built around four major themes:

  1. Water Reform and Water Continuity – ensuring sector resilience and sustainability
  2. Energy Neutrality in the Water Sector – moving toward energy independence and efficiency
  3. Research and Development News – innovations and best practices from across Europe
  4. Security in the Water Sector – cybersecurity, compliance, and crisis preparedness

These topics will be explored by a wide range of high-level speakers and experts, including government representatives from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania; leading European water associations, such as EurEau and the Finnish Water Utilities Association (FIWA); technology providers and innovators from Austria, the Netherlands, and the Nordics; utility professionals and engineers from companies including Tallinna Vesi and Riga Water; as well as academic and cybersecurity specialists focused on infrastructure resilience and digital threats.

Through their diverse experiences, the speakers will offer both strategic insights and practical case studies, making the program valuable for policy-makers, utility leaders, engineers, and sustainability experts alike.
