BWC 2024xOn May 29th to 31st, 2024, the Baltic Water Works Conference took place in Palanga, Lithuania. The Lithuanian Water Suppliers Association (LWSA), in cooperation with the Estonian Waterworks Association (EVEL) and the Latvian Water and Wastewater Works Association (LWWWWA), gathered more than 230 participants from water management companies across Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Ukraine, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, and Germany. The aim of the BWWC 2024 was to explore innovative ideas in the complex world of water and to address sustainability, ecology, and scientific insights in the water sector.

The conference discussed the priorities of the Green Course in the water management sector, the new directive on urban wastewater management. Representatives of the environmental ministries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania participated in the discussion about the changes and challenges of the directive and shared their insights. Special B2B meetings were held for the conference participants to meet, discuss and learn about partnership opportunities that water management companies in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and other European countries can provide to each other.
Experts with experience in innovative technological solutions, digitization, or the use of artificial intelligence in the water management sector had an important place at the conference. At the beginning of the conference, all participants were welcomed by the Minister of the Environment of Lithuania, Simonas Gentvilas. The conference was oficially opened by the Palanga city Vicemayor Rimantas Antanas Mikalkėnas, the CEO of the LWWWWA Sandis Dejus, the president of the LVTA Bronius Miežutavičius, and the president of the EVEL Andres Aruhein, as well as the representative of the Association of the Ukrainian Vodokanals Yurii Zherlitsyn.
After the opening ceremony, all participants listened to engaging conference presentations. The conference consisted of three parts, each presenting topics relevant to the sector. The first part of the conference began with "Finding Innovative Ideas in a Complex World of Water." The second part was dedicated to opportunity insights. At the end of the conference, the audience was introduced to sustainability, ecology, and science insights
